We’re a family of first-generation bison ranchers, raising a full herd of American bison as nature intended — grass fed and free roamin’!
200 acres of land in Moiese, Montana is where we & our bison call home.
The Great American Bison
Often confused with the “buffalo”, the American Bison is actually a closer relative to cows and goats than buffalo. Bison are uniquely found in North America & Europe.
Before the mid-1800s, an estimated 30-60 million bison freely roamed North America, playing a vital role in nurturing ecosystems through their presence. Today, there are only about 500,000 spread throughout our continent’s ranches, national parks, and native lands.
Though the number of bison has dwindled significantly over the last century and a half, there have been successful initiatives to restore the population in the last decade. Bison Blue Ranch is a passionate part of this movement!
